What's at stake...
The first day of school in the Hillsboro School District was a budget cut day. I talked to a teacher at the door that has 26 kids in her kindergarten class. I talked to a 3rd grade teacher that was hoping he’d have less than 40 kids in his class. I talk to parents every day that worry that our schools aren’t giving our kids the opportunities they need.
I am reminded every day what’s at stake with our schools, with our community and with this election. We have a lot to do to improve our schools, to reduce class size and restore school days – but we have to do it. We have to reverse the trends and start to invest in our future.
I believe that I can be a part of the progress and the solution – we’re only 8 weeks away from an Election Day where we can get started. I can win this election, roll up my sleeves, and get to work reversing the trend.
If I’m going to win, I need your help – and if you’ve been thinking there’s time to wait to come out and volunteer, you’re starting to run out of time. We need you this weekend - please join us at either 10 am on Saturday the 15th or 2 pm on Sunday the 16th to knock on some doors and help me fight for a better future for Oregon.
Please RSVP to me a ben@benunger.com to let me know I can count on you.
If weekends don’t work, we canvass every weekday from 10 am to 8:30 pm. Just email me and let me know when we can expect you.
If you’ve got knuckles to knock, we’ve got doors to knock on.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
Ben
